The Further Adventures of an Idiot AbroadThe Further Adventures of an Idiot Abroad by Karl Pilkington

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Once again Karl is forced to experience what other’s may put on a “bucket list” but which he doesn’t even want to think about doing. What others want to do before they die he sees a sure way to commit suicide.

Here is Karl’s take on running with the bulls in Pamplona: “What is it with Spain? If they are not throwing tomatoes at each other they’re running down alleyways avoiding rampaging bulls! It’s like they’re living in a computer game. I suppose this is what happens when you live in a place that has good weather most of the year round – people come up with daft outside events.” Who can argue with that logic?

What can I say? He is of a loveable idiot and a curmudgeon. It’s frightening when one finds one’s self agreeing with his “logic.”

This one is not written in diary form as was the last one but it is FUNNY. Besides the usual winging there are pictures of Karl in various getups presumably on his way to attempt one of the 100 items on the list. It also includes charming little drawings plus random facts as Karl interprets them.

Sometimes Karl is as inappropriate as a child might be but he is not cruel – just naïve and hilarious. He does puts out on the open what some may be thinking but don’t articulate.

A fast read with plenty of laughs as he comments on a bucket list of one hundred items from which he must choose a few plus do some which Ricky Gervais & Stephen Merchant bully him into doing. Hilarity ensues.
